How Do I Become a Registered Behavior Technician™ (RBT ® )?

The Registered Behavior Technician™ (RBT®) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close and ongoing supervision of either a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Annotator® (BCaBA®), or other private meeting the BACB requirements for noncertified RBT supervisors. An Overview of RBT Requirements

The RBT is a credential given past the Behavior Analyst Certification Lath (BACB). The Initial Competency Assessment

A BACB Certificant (BCaBA, BCBA, or BCBA-D) who has completed the 8-hour supervision training is responsible for overseeing the Competency Assessment. The responsible assessor must ensure that the assessment is conducted in accordance with these requirements:

  • Sign the Initial Competency Assessment.
  • Maintain records of all assessments conducted; and
  • Ensure that the assessment meets quality standards, even when assistant assessor(s) are involved in conducting the assessment.

Notation: The Florida Tech RBT Essentials Preparation Programme does NOT provide this competency assessment service. Students must be assessed by a qualified assessor of their choosing who meets the in a higher place requirements.

This training program is based on the RBT Job List (2nd Ed.) and is designed to meet the 40-60 minutes training requirement for RBT certification. The programme is offered independent of the BACB. Students may request to drib the grade, equally long equally it is within 30 days of registration and they have not completed annihilation beyond module ii. To officially drop the course and receive a refund, please contact Student Services at abareg@fit.edu and submit the drib survey. The completed drop survey must exist received within this time period to be dropped from the course and receive a refund. The refund is returned to the credit card that was used to pay for the training.
